Visionary in Spatial AI & XRMemory: Connecting people beyond space and time.
I am a Senior Researcher (Ph.D.) at KAIST and a Visiting Researcher at NYU, dedicated to bridging physical and virtual worlds through Spatial AI and XR. My research vision is to connect people beyond space and time by developing next-generation immersive platforms.
Currently, I direct large-scale national projects as a Co-Principal Investigator (Co-PI) on a $3M NRF grant (Meta-Object) and as a System Integration Manager for a $6M NRF grant (OpenXR), leading over 40 researchers.
My research excellence is demonstrated by over 25 publications in top-tier conferences and journals (AR/VR/HCI/Graphics) and 7 filed patents. This track record has been recognized with three Best Paper Awards at IEEE ISMAR (Top 1%), the premier conference in Augmented Reality.
Beyond individual research, I am pioneering the field of "XRMemory," actively shaping the global community by organizing workshops at IEEE VR and ISMAR, and serving as the Lead Guest Editor for the Springer Virtual Reality Journal. I also drive global initiatives as a Project Leader for the KAIST-NYU Meta-Museum collaboration.
